Sunday Morning in Keresidenan Purwakarta

Today 10 July 2011, Me, My Mom and My Sister went to Situ Buleud, our purpose is Gedung Keresidenan.

Gedung Keresidenan has a history as follows :

Gedung Keresidenan

Gedung Keresidenan in Purwakarta was built along with rail train between Batavia-Padalarang via Purwakarta on the beginning of 20th century. That rail train until Padalarang in 1906. Thus, Gedung Keresidenan may be built in 1902.

After Gedung Keresidenan was finished built and train transportation Batavia-Padalarang opened, Residen Karawang moved from Karawang to Purwakarta.

Existence Gedung Keresidenan with modern architechture change the atmosphere to modern city.

Pavilion of Gedung Keresidenan

On period Japan colonial, Gedung Keresidenan become Honbu Kenpetai (Police Office) Japan, part of Detasemen Syoji Troops.

On period Independence Revolution, Gedung Keresidenan have function as office of Resimen V, leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Sumarna.

Now, Gedung Keresidenan have function for office of Badan Koordinasi Wilayah Purwakarta.
